Some Ian Photos!

Exercise!!

Ahhhh!! I am all cleared to go back to the gym! Now I can finally banish those last 15 pounds (well 15 to be back at pre-pregnancy, 20-30 to be where I really want to be)! I am taking my fenugreek and drinking my mothers milk tea to keep my supply up and jumping in headfirst! Feels great!

Kiddos are doing good, Ian is such a sweetie and now sleeps a good 4-5 hour stretch at night before eating and then a 3 hour and then back to eating every 2 hours the rest of the day.

Kenna has her re-check next week for her constipation, but she has successfully been pooping on the potty for a couple weeks now!! Yay!! So happy!

It's been a long time!

Well looks like I have neglected my blog for a while. Little Ian arrived in this world on October 7th, 2008 at 12:08 PM weighing 7 lbs 12 oz and measuring 20.5 inches long! My biggest baby by far! The section went pretty routine other than a lot of scar tissue, the whole surgery took a bit over an hour and a half. Recovery has been good so far other than a lot of abdominal swelling in the beginning. No real pain though other than the expected incision pain.

Ian is going to be 5 weeks old tomorrow and has been such a blessing. As of his 2 week appt he weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz and was 22 inches long, growing like a weed so far! He sleeps well except for his cold he has had for a bit :( But he really is such an amazing baby, well tempered and so cuddly! Kenna and Logan have taken to him so well, they love their little brother very much and make sure to love on him non-stop! I cannot wait for all the milestones to come with little Ian, although it is a bit sad to see him grow so fast knowing he is my last little one.

Logan has had his 18 month appt and is also doing well! He is now in the 10% for length, but still the 3% for weight. He was a bit over 20 lbs and 31 inches long. So my tiny little dude! He is such a sweetie and is becoming a big boy more and more every single day! His speech is getting better and he has almost all of his teeth now, just a few left to come in! Every morning I look forward to hearing his sweet voice say "Hi Mommy" when I open his door to get him!

Kenna just had her 3rd birthday and appt!! She is now 29 lbs (25%) and 35 inches (10%) and is now fully potty trained!! Woo-hoo!! We had her birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and she had such a blast! It was so much fun and so nice to have all her friends with her :) She is growing up so fast, but it is so nice getting to see this beautiful 3 year old and getting to know my daughter more and more everyday!

As for me I am starting back up at the gym next week, I have about 13 lbs or so to go to get to pre-pregnancy weight and want to lose another 7-15 on top of that, so I have some work to do, lol!

I have a lot to be thankful for this thanksgiving in a few weeks. I am so happy to now have my beautiful family of 5 though!

Appt today!

Well it was my last ultrasound of my pregnancy!!! Ian is weighing in at about 5 lbs 6 oz and fluid levels are perfect! They did not check my cervix at all, so I have no clue if the cramping is causing anything, but the doc did not seem concerned unless it becomes regular. He was moving all around, it was cute to feel and see the movements at the same time! I can't wait to have my little man here, I can wait for the sleep deprivation and the lugging 3 very small kids around, but despite all the challenges I know my life is going to be much more enriched because of it! Next appt is 2 weeks away, and only 3 left before my c-section date. So elated and nervous all at the same time!

Tomorrow is my ultrasound day!!

Well looks like tomorrow is the day I am going to be going in for my last ultrasound. I do not see them wanting to do anymore unless my fluid levels are lower again. I will find out if any of the cramping, contractions, etc.... have been changing my cervix and how big little Ian is measuring! So excited! On top of that I found a toy today that we wanted to buy Logan for Christmas for almost $20 off the price!! Also I picked up his crib tent, I really hope it keeps him from climbing out of the crib, I need to know he can't climb out while he is at my mom's when I have Ian! The weather here is gorgeous today, and this whole week is supposed to be in the 70's! Kids got tons of playtime outside this weekend including the last day in the pool this season, it was sad to leave for another year from the pool, but it was really fun while it lasted!

One of those days!!

Having one of those days where the kids are all going crazy, everyone is cranky and you just want to lay in bed and sleep all day long! So glad it is almost over and that hubby came home a bit early and took Kenna to the pool! I just want to scream today! Hopefully tomorrow is a bit better :) On a good note I have 6 weeks left until little Ian is born!!! So excited! Logan kissed my belly today, so sweet! We went to a birthday party for one of Kenna's friends this weekend and she just got a brand new baby brother a month ago, Logan was TERRIFIED of little Matthew it seemed! I hope he gets a bit better around him soon, he is in for a rude awakening otherwise!

32w5d Today! And last appt update!

Wow. Time is flying by so fast! 6 and a half weeks and I will have my little man here! Picked up our photos yesterday and took the kiddos to the mall play area, they had a blast! They love going there and we had an Orange Julius treat! Yum!

My last appt was pretty good, they checked my cervix to make sure my contractions I have been having are not dilating me or changing my cervix and they are not! So either it is false labor or very painful Braxton Hicks. Also had my last fetal fibronectin test done to make sure that my chance at preterm labor in the next 2 weeks is minimal. Have not gotten those results yet, but I am assuming since the doctor did not call that everything is fine (the test was done on Wednesday morning). My weight though scared me to death! I was up almost 9 lbs in 2 weeks!!! What! How did that happen? I am assuming it is a lot of water retention, but wow! Thats a lot to go up in 2 weeks! Hope it doesn't keep happening like that!

I have another u/s and appt on September 3rd, they are going to do a final check on Ian's fluid levels, cervix length and Ian's weight. Looking forward to seeing him again!

We are also trying to rent out one of our rentals right now, and very soon a 2nd one is coming up. I am just crossing my fingers that they rent very quickly and before Ian is born! It would be a load off our minds!

Kenna went to Chuck E Cheese for her one month potty treat!!! She had a blast and we are now using the bait that if she poops on the potty we will go back :) She also wants her birthday party there, and I will do that because it means less clean up for me!!! And with a 3 week old that is an essential thing that I would love to avoid!

Contractions

Hoping it was a fluke, started having some painful contractions last night. They are gone this morning, but still cramping a decent amount. Docs office said to go to L&D if it happens again. Hoping it doesn't! So scary! Just when things seem to be going normal something seems to go wrong :(

I am 31 weeks along today!

Yay!! I had my u/s about a week and a half ago, little Ian was measuring about 2 lbs 15 oz then! And the best news by far was the fact that my fluid levels are a bit more normal at 13 and my cervix was now measuring 36.5 mm!!!!! Yay!! It is a normal length now! I am to keep doing what I have been doing because it is obviously working. I may not even need another ultrasound the rest of the pregnancy! Hopefully I can get Billy to scan in the new photos soon so I can post them :)

My regular appt was last week and baby is great! We are just hoping he will hang in there until c-section time Oct 7th! I am on bi-weekly appts now, which is not fun for driving but always nice to hear little Ian's heartbeat! My weight has been a bit nutty though, I was down 2.5 lbs according to the scale this last appt from the 28 week appt.

Kenna is doing so so so amazing at potty training! She is going in public, she is not peeing at night (surprised me when she started waiting until I got her up in the morning to pee!!! I was NOT expecting that at all) and she uses the potty all day, no accidents for close to 2 weeks now! Only thing is she still won't poop in the potty, guess that is her only "accident" but we are just happy to have her go since she has constipation problems. I am not pushing for pooping in the potty yet, I know that will come when she is ready!

We had some family photos done this past Saturday, Kenna scratched Logan under his nose right before the photos. Poor little guy has a fresh cut in his pics! I had my maternity photos done Sat too. We didn't get a lot pf pics, the kids did not want to cooperate :) But we got some cute ones! I will post them later when they email the thumbnail versions!

Also here are a few pics of the kids from this past July, including Logan's first haircut and time-out! They are growing up so fast!

28 Week Appt Today!

I had my 28 Week Appt today, not much info though, I am getting another ultrasound next Thursday to check my fluid levels and everything. Need to cut back on the fruit smoothies though, hahaha! Gained too much weight apparently from them since that is pretty much all I can eat now that my morning sickness has returned! My c-section date is set for October 7th, 2008! So exciting to have the date. I do wish that I could have a normal labor and delivery, but I know that it is not safe for little Ian so I am going to do what is best for him! Went and got his lovies today from the Carter's store, they are adorable and I cannot wait until he is here and can learn to have them as his security blankets!

Kenna and Logan had a nice fun carousel ride at the mall with Nana! It was Logan's first time on the carousel and he enjoyed it for the most part, but got a bit scared at the end. Same thing on the real pony ride during the 4th of July, he loved the first half of the ride and then decided in the middle it was not for him :) He is still in to everything he can get into though! We just got a bunkbed in his room for him and Ian to share, I know it is premature, but we got an amazing deal on it from someone selling it used, and it matches Kenna's bed and also came with a dresser, mirror, bookshelf, mattresses and the bedding. All for the price of just the dresser brand new! Couldn't pass it up! But now Logan has taken to wanting to sleep on it, but not being ready yet! Ah well, one of these days soon enough he will be!

Our Trip!

Well, we just got back on Sunday night from our vacation to Texas! The drive was not so fun, the kids had quite a few fits during it, but it was a great time overall! It was a huge help having my mom there with me! Our first stop was in Lubbock, we got to spend some time with Aunt Ann and Uncle Rob, had some awesome fajitas! I always love to see them! Then the next day we went on to San Antonio to go visit Gigi! We loved every moment with her, and Kenna especially loved swimming in Gigi's pool and seeing Shamu at Seaworld! It was hot, hot, hot there though! And humid, does make me not want to complain much about Colorado's weather! Logan loved to get into everything at Gigi's house so it unfortunately was constant battles running down the hall and behind the couch, etc! But we loved seeing her, and the kids loved spending all that time with Nana too! We were there about 2 weeks and then headed on to Dallas for a very short stay to see my bro and his fiance before departing home! I loved meeting Cat, she is wonderful with Kenna and Logan and so nice! And it was great to see my brother again, I wish I could have had some more time with them, but we had to get home! The kids really enjoyed the swimming at the hotel with them too! Hopefully we can convince them to come on up to Colorado some time After that we had our long long long car ride back home, about 14.5 hours. And finally we were back in Colorado where it didn't feel like a sauna when you stepped out of the car! So all in all it was a great and fun trip and I hope that it isn't too long and these gas prices don't get too bad so that we can do it again sometime!

20 Week Ultrasound and Doc Appt

Well everything is looking decent right now!! My cervix is now at 30mm so still pretty low, but not short now. I am still to not exercise the rest of the pregnancy and take it as easy as possible. I will be rechecked on June 25th! I am so happy that everything is stable there right now and that the baby is perfectly healthy!!

Baby has short legs though ;) Takes after Logan, Kenna, myself and Billy I guess, hahaha! And I caved and found out the sex! I wanted to know so I had less work to do going through clothes, etc... and knowing what I may still need since I am not allowed to do as much this pregnancy. I figured it would be easier on me physically and budget wise!!

So we are having...................Another baby Boy!!!!!! Yay!!! Logan and Kenna are going to have a little brother! I am so excited! I am 99% sure about his name, we are pretty solid on Ian Arthur! I can't wait to meet little Ian, but he better bake until full term :)

Kenna at first kept saying she "didn't want an Ian, wanted an Annika" but she is coming around :) She now says baby Ian is in mommy's belly and she gives him kisses! Logan is still so young he doesn't understand, but I know he will be thrilled to have a brother!

Now we just have to switch the kids rooms around, Kenna is going to take Logan's because it is smaller and we will have her pick out a really nice big girl bed and everything to decorate it. And Logan & Ian will share the larger bedroom until we move into a bigger house, which could be soon or a long time from now, not sure. It all depends on a lot of different circumstances! But it will be fun to watch Kenna help decorate her room! And I will have her help with the boy's room!
It is funny because I really thought this baby was a girl, but then again I also thought Kenna was a boy and Logan was a girl, so I am starting to believe that I have no clue when it comes to guessing, even with mother's intuition! :)

I am leaving for Texas with my mom soon! We are heading to see my Nana in San Antonio for a couple weeks! It is going to be a blast! I will update again as soon as I can!

Problems with the pregnancy :(

Well I am having some issues already with this pregnancy, I really hope they even out though and don't get any worse. I had cervical issues in pregnancy with Kenna and probably Logan as well (bad insurance with him so it wasn't checked). Well I had some spotting yesterday at 17w2d and they did an ultrasound to check my cervix. It is short already. It is at 26.8mm, normal is 30mm or above. With Kenna at this stage it was 35mm and went to 22mm by 28 weeks, so I am just praying that it stays at 26.8 mm or gets a little longer, which could happen. I am now to not exercise, do any heavy lifting or housework, etc... for a minimum of 6 weeks and probably no exercise except maybe minor things for the rest of the pregnancy. I just really hope that my exercising is what caused my cervix to shorten now, because if it did that means I am pretty safe as long as I stay on my butt as much as possible. I am just so worried. I am only 17w3d today and that just feels so far from when the baby would be safe to come into the world. So I am being as easy on myself as I can with a 2 and a 1 year old and just keeping everything crossed that I get good news at my next ultrasound on May 20th!

Good news is baby looks great! Measuring perfectly with a hb of 152! And I am going to get many many peeks at him/her throughout this pregnancy!

Come on cervix of steel (as a friend put it recently!)

Update on us!

Here is a quick update of everything going on with us recently:

Billy is working and studying hard to become licensed as an architect, he will start his exams very soon. I know we are all anxious, but I have complete faith in his abilities and his talents. He is going to do some wonderful work in the future, as he already has.

I am doing great, I am 14 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my last little one today, extremely relieved that all my ultrasounds so far have looked good, it was so good to see that little heartbeat, I guess after losing pregnancies no matter what stage you always worry. I have some amazing friends that have gone through some terrible losses recently and I just hope and pray that they never have to experience the level of pain and sadness that they have had to go through, I think of them every single day. I have my next prenatal appointment on May 2nd, just a regular one and then I will have my ultrasound at the end of the month. After that my dad is flying up to Denver to drive down with me to Texas for a nice family visit, and then I will drive down and meet my mom and visit with my Nana (Gigi to the kiddos!) I am looking forward to relaxing a bit and spending time with the family!

Kenna is just growing up more and more each and every day, she is such a sweet, smart, creative and vibrant little girl. She is a firecracker too, but I wouldn't have it any other way, it is what makes her so wonderful. I just can't believe she is almost 2.5 years old. It seems like yesterday she was born and so so fragile. She didn't have the easiest start in the world at all, but she is a fighter for sure. She has a lot of friends at the gym daycare and has her first crush on a boy, Cael. She thinks he is just amazing and tells me that she loves him everyday!

Logan is walking now! Yay! Nana just bought him his first pair of shoes the other day, and he looks adorable in them! He is a tiny little guy, but so loveable. He is sweet, generous, kind, he just has the warmest spirit about him! He loves his sister so much, as she does him. They are great siblings! He will kiss my belly already when I ask where the baby is, I am sure he doesn't really understand at all but it is so sweet to watch him!

And in a nutshell that is how things are going right now. Living life everyday and just trying to cherish every moment I can. And hoping my sickness will go away for good soon ;) That’s always a plus!
